Im considering buying a CF trunk and needed a few questions answered

i know XC makes a nice trunk but has problems sitting high on the drivers side
is there a mod to fix this to make it sit even?

Also ive heard of a few leaking trunks? If so who has them, what brand are they, where does it leak, and is there a fix for that as well?

Also any other flaws ?

Im interested in getting one but not if its going to be more of a pain in the butt than its worth

Also please post pictures of yours as well.

I have a VIS trunk. you saw the pic in the other thread it fits great. It leaks a little where the reverse lights go but I just need to add some weather stripping to stop that.

 

I'll be getting my XC hood and trunk this week. Might put them on just to make sure they fit. Got other plans before I leave them on for good. Expecting to spend easily an hour on each to get them to fit perfect.

Also have to do a cut out for the 3rd brake light. Lets hope that goes well. lol.

 

hb your trunk looks **** on the silver car. if i didnt get lbm itd deff be silver my second fav color.
how bad is the leak on your trunk?

HB went to the VIS warehouse and picked through like a 100 trunks haha

no haha I had one that didn't fit then I went back and they brought down 3 different ones

Don't have to have the 3rb break light. I looked at your images, and can't really see your CF trunk that well. Could you post some pics of it all cleaned up? I also have a black balt, and am interested in how it looks on against black or should I get it all painted??

 

Mine just sits a little high. There may be a way to lower it, but I'm not that worried at the moment.

 

I had to massage thetrunk seal rail and re-seal around inner lights but now im pretty close. The bottom is the only part that interfered and can stop the trunk from closing all the way. THe gap between the bottom of the trunk and the top of the rear bumper is only 1/4 to 3/8 max.

 

You just need to adjust the latch inside the trunk to pull it down more so it fits right. The only problem with mine is the 3rd brake light as well but no leaks.
