Changed Radio, HVAC and trim

This was a pretty easy mod and I think that it looks 100% better than the old silver stuff. I painted the silver trim and replaced my radio with a black one. I also changed out the HVAC control. I am for right now leaving the pillars and other stuff silver because with my tint on the car the silver keeps it brighter. What do you think?

I don't like the stock silver at all. I change mine all the time, it was black; but right now its gold. I have the black hvac coming and then the radio

Trim looks awesome. I like the flat look as opposed to the gloss black that looks so out of place.

I did not do the silver steering wheel trim because the pillars and headliner are still silver but I may change them soon as well.

I bought the radio and hvac on eBay. It is the same radio just black. It is a 6 disc changer, iPod ready and plays mp3's. Works great.
Once in a while I see them on here for sale but just like me everyone on here prices everything they have high and we go to eBay lol.

So you get those pieces from a g5? I like that idea I hate the silver! I might have to hit up the junk yard. There's a couple g5s at my local junk yard. Does everything just plug in the same?

I found a cd player on eBay but it says 07-09 will that lot work with my 06?

Everything worked just like plug and play for me guys. I have heard that if your radio doesn't work or says locked you have to go to the dealership and get them to flash a relearn program. Everything works like it did with the silver one. The subs work great as well. If anyone wants a great working silver one that is a six disc changer and iPod and mp3 disc ready with the silver hvac I will make a bundle deal for you. Have a good one.

I am a 2007 supercharged ss. It's funny but I used plasti dip on it just in case I did not like it. It was 2 coats and settled easy. Hardest part was pulling off the trim because I was afraid I would break it nut it popped right off.

Yours went plug and play because you have a different harness than the 06's. I believe switching out headunits in the 05-06 are much more complicated- atleast that's what I read thus far..

I don't really know but I heard that you can do it is all I know. You could also take off your radio face by unscrewing it and paint that. I didn't want to do that though.
