hmm... cheap appearance mods... well, look up Biohazard, he has lots of cheap apperance mods that he has how to's for... i painted some of the interior, here's a look... cost me about 3 dollars for primer and 3 dollars for a can of spraypaint... my next move with it is to get the GM paint that will match the outside... i wanted to check how it looked before i got the expensive stuff though.... i love it, and it's easy... here's a few pics..

You can always debadge the car. That's easy and all you need is dental floss, a hair dryer and some goo-gone spray. It will give a nice clean look. At least get rid of the rear bowtie.

I still don't understand why people debadge cars like these. A show car...I understand, but a car that your gonna race and beat people in? Why wouldn't you want them to know what just beat them? Just my opinion.

i debadged my car because it looks much cleaner... and, if someone doesn't know what just beat them, then they don't know their cars... screw em...

Well that's one way to look at it. I used to have the same idea as you, but changed once I bought this car. I guess it's just like the saying goes..."whatever floats you boat."

I agree that debadging makes it look cleaner (especially the GM sqaure emblems), but i have a little to much "chevy pride" to take off the chevy bowtie emblems. I mean, how can we get some respect for our cars if nobody knows what we have!

Also, i'm a muscle car fan by heart, and debadging your Z28 or GSX is pure blasphemy!

no sanding at all... i took them off, primer, and then several VERY LIGHT layers of spray paint... the blue is darker than it actually looks in the pics.... but it's very easy, you just have to be careful taking off the peices... you have to pull them to the point that they feel like they're going to snap...

now the thing to remember is that it's better to do lots of light coats instead of one or 2 heavy coats... spray very light, after the first coat it's ok if you can still see a lot of primer through it...

there is a how-to on this topic, but it helps to clear coat and wax the peices for ultimate shine, but visit the how-to thread

Really cheap and easy mod is to paint your brake calipers with that dupont or duplex kit everyone is using. It's around 17 bucs and I did it in a few hours because it was raining. (damn Florida weather) If I had pics I'd post them, but it's raining like I said. It's also a good chance to clean the inside of your wheels too.
