the gold and chrome parts come apart if you heat it up pretty good, and then just paint it.

that is my point, you seperate the gold and chrome pieces so that you can spray the entire gold piece w/o taping then just get some good double sided tape and stick it back together.

I wanted to do the same exact thing with my bowties. Front and back. How would I take the front and back bowties off w/o damaging them? Especially the front one. Do you know?

the front is easy, just two bolts behind the bumper... the rear is tougher, but if you heat it up w/ a blow dryer and try twisting it off or if that doesnt work try some fishing line (remember the more you heat it, the easier it will be) good luck

Cool, thanks. And both the bowties can be heated apart so I can paint the gold black and leave the chrome as it is, right??

yea i did...with a really fine grit sand paper so the scratches in the plastic won't show up. I'm gonna do the same for the back bowtie as well.

lol, yea if you send me the emblems I will do it for you and send them back. It's not that hard, just time consuming cause it takes forever to get the two pieces apart. lol

Looks pretty good. I've been thinking about doing this, but just haven't really had the time.

But now I wanna see the vinyl ones.

(Next time, hold the badges about 1 foot farther away from the camera. If you notice, it was focusing in on the ground. Hehe )

Yea, I'll get some better pics tomorrow of it on the car. It was hard to tell how the pic was gonna come out cause it was really bright outside and the screen on the camera is small and hard to see from the sunlight.

How do you like my weed bed???

Its Beautiful!! I didn't realize people in other states had rock yards too. I thought it was just an Arizona thing. Its just so hot here that grass doesn't want to stay alive.

Yeah, I know it sucks how small screens keep you from being able to tell what the pic will look like.

No, we don't have a rock yard. It's just up next to the front of the house where we had mulch. But I get rid of the weeds in a day and the next they show right back up....

But here is a better picI hope of the front badge on the car.

Wow, the sunlight at certain angles makes my car look orange in pictures.
