Thumbs up Clever's Retro Build Thread

This is my first time doing a retro build, still waiting on the H1 Morimoto's and color matched paint, then i should be able to finish these up.

Here are a few picks of the insides, still need to wet sand the clear.

Going to go with the Three5's w/ 5k bulbs, will post more pics as the progress continues.

1/21/12

Got the lenses prepped and masked off, I sanded with 400 then used a self etching primer.

After I got it all primered and dried I masked off a little portion above the original mask line, I am going to paint with this mask and then remove it and mask off the colored paint and over lap the edge about 1mm and paint black here to sandwitch the orange paints edge and give it a nice black outline on the eyelid, you can see the ridge underneeth the masking in the last picture.

1/26/2012

Finally got the projectors in, got the shrouds painted black and masked off, just waiting for the sunburst orange paint that has taken 2 weeks to get and i should be able to hem these things up.

1/28/2012

Got everything painted, still havent resealed the lenses on yet cause i want to make sure the projectors are aimed right.

I should have some pics of them on the car when i get my harness and hid kit in.

I hope it doesn't look ghey, if it does I'll just use the lenses off my aftermarkets.

if that eyelid design looked a little more aggressive i think it would be much better, but maybe its just cuz i havent seen them on the car yet. so i will hold my opinion until i see those pics. Nice work though!!

Retro work looks clean, love the Maven-style wire routing.

Was going for the sleepy eye look, I still only know what it looks like from pics I've seen before.

Maven, thanks man, I actually follow your build threads very closely.

Yea I still don't know if I like the eyelids either, gonna have to throw em on and see, if it doesn't look how I want it I am just going to take the lenses off my gen 1's and use those.

I hope they fit if that is the case, thanks for the comments, I really enjoyed doing this project. Shouts to maven also as his great craftmenship inspired my build.
