color matched interior trim

well im still in the process of finishing this. i just started today and got pretty far. i removed the smooth grey pieces that run across the dash and around stereo. i just kept looking and thought, maybe color matching those pieces to the body would look nice. well i decide to do it. took some red scotchbrite and scuffed the parts, rubbed them down with tack clotch, wiped with laquer thinner, then hit it with epoxy primer. the paint i picked up from the ppg store and he mixed it as a single stage, which is okay to me, but i wanted b/c. i have had troubles with bugs dive bombing the paint as soon as i spray it leaving divits! so a lesson to be learned, #1--spray in a booth (i didnt want to build my makeshift one since it was nice outside), and #2--YELLOW ATTRACTS BUGS!!!!!!!!!

so anyways, heres a couple pics........

perfect gun stand there, until someone shuts the garage door. but also the pieces on the steering wheel will get matched too. i just didnt want to tear those off today as i have to go to work tomorrow, and the other ones wont be going in for maybe a week.

cant see the real color of the parts as it was really sunny and i had the camera on auto, so its dark. but im really liking it. i had to go for 100% color match though. im really picky. well worth the $15 for the pint of paint.

Well i dont have a spay gun so i used spray paint its krylon rust tough enamle i also used plastic adhesive primer and duplicolor clear coat all together cost me like almost 15. The krylon matched perfectly cause the door and seats have differnt shades of yellow not much of a difference but there is some but the krylon matches the doors perfectly
