I have an ls and want to get color matched mirrors

Does anyone know if I can just pop the fronts off of them and pop the color plate into the mirrors?

A junkyard around me has a balt with the color mirrors, I was going to just take it off that balt, paint it and slap them on mine?

help? Would I need to swap the entire mirror?

 

The coloured caps basically just snap into the front of the mirrors. You can just pop them off the car at the yard and pop them on to yours. Just be careful as they have a lot of small tabs so you don't want to break any of them.

 

Yeah you can pop those skull caps right off the mirror. Just get a regular screwdriver nd unclip the four or so clips that hold it on. To do this you have to move the mirror around a bit, so you can get behind it to unclip the caps. Once you look at it you'll get what i mean. as far as your mirrors... I don't know about the caps on ls mirrors. if im correct then the plastic should come off just like the color matched caps. Hopefully this helps. lol if you really cant figure it out, i can take some pics of my mirrors to show u. i took mine off and painted them couple months ago. Good luck!
