Cool Corvette steering wheel?

So I saw a fellow member (Miko) who swapped a suede z06 steering wheel into his cobalt, and I started wondering if it was possible to install this steering wheel as well. DSV-Store*::*C6*::*Interior*::*Steering wheels*::*DStyle Steering Wheels . I really hate our generic steering wheel, was wanting to upgrade to an after market steering wheel, but I would also like to keep the safety of an air bag handy. What you guys think? What problems would I run into on an install like this? I don't want to for over that much cash for nothing. Thanks.

...... All Corvette's have the same "generic" steering wheel as the 07+ cobalts.. with this one, you lose the cruise control for some "extra grip" I say nay..

if you're gonna get a "better" steering wheel, get a better one, or one that looks cool anyway the one's from the solticeand sky look better in my opinion, and it's an 'easy' swap

Yeah I noticed that, but Miko was able to swap his cruise control over to the new steering wheel. So I know it won't be an issue, but the rewiring might be. Good point on the solstice/sky steering wheel. I can always get it rewraped in suede. Might be cheaper too. I'm just a really big fan of the D shaped steering wheel. Plus the function is a huge plus for me.

why not just buy redline goods' steering wheel cover, its a full replacement of the stock leather/vinyl and you can customize it however you want

here's a link Leather steering wheel covers - RedlineGoods leather shift boots

ya, redline goods makes good stuff.. if you're more concrened about the shape, grab somethin for much cheaper off Ebay or somethin.. not sayin it's jus **** off there, but you just have to look..
As far as wiring.. I highly doubt you'll be able to wirin in somethin like that "easily"

If you have the Trifecta tune an have cruise control set as the switch, you can always wire in a switch somewhere an have it set to that..

Why would he lose his cruise control? That's just a cover on the left side.. he can put his panel mechanism in.

he'd lose his cruise control cuz the steerin wheel looks like this...
if he wanted to remove the panel, shave some inches off, an glue the controls in, than he could retain his cruise control.. obviously.. I'm jus sayin, with THIS steering wheel, he'd lose it

It would be cheaper to wear a T-Shirt with a pitcure of a Corvette on it.

Its actually a direct swap, and you can even swap the cobalt's cruse control buttons/air bags to it.

I'm not going to keep the corvette logo. Thats just tacky. I'm using my airbag which has an SS emblem on it. I'm looking for answers here. Not negative comments please.

Excellent suggestion!! I hope they do suede. I emailed them to see if they do have it as a custom order. I'm trying to do an appearance overhaul on my car, and the interior is on the top of my list.

Yeah. That's what I intend to do. The only problem I see is the steering wheel hub. I don't think it'll match up with the spline of the steering shaft.
