custom hoods.

Well I've done some searching on the forums and not really found what I was looking for so I made this postfor people to post pics of custom things they have done to their hoods. I'm not talking about simply buying an aftermarket Hood like carbon fiber and what not. I'm looking for custom work like molded in vents, scoops, wacky paintjobs ect.

i think theres two custom hoods. John powell put some heat louvers in his IRL hood. and there was a yellow cobalt on here that made it in to a cowl hood. other than that. nothing lol

Well that's kind of disapoonting news. I figured with all the scoop and vent inserts out there on the market more people than that woiuld have modified the stock Hood. Afterall who wants to be just like everyone else and buy a Hood already made that hundreds of people own? I've had by own ideas of what if like to do but I'd need another Hood before experimenting. Deffinitely not gonna go cutting on my factory Hood and then have to drive around with a Hood that looks like a maniac took a can opener to!

I would think for the turbo guys that a air scoop on the passenger side of the hood woul ad a bit of power and fuel economy

Idk about power but if you had a sri it would turn it into a cai. I myself have a true cai that runs down behind the front bumper right behind the passenger fog light.

colder air than under the hood= More power. it won't be a huge gain but maybe a couple hp all around.

I know that there were some JSP hoods made for the grand am's a few years back. it was kind of a group buy thing I think

Its not too bad a drive but between ponds and pawhuska it is long and boring. Hard to stay awake especially after a full shift and at 12-1am. But the curves between pawhuska and bartlesville are fun, well not as much since they have redone some of it. But most the curves are still there.

That does look good. Would definitely look like it was factory on a g5.

Not my cup of tea but it looks good!

Not bad but i want the G5 sport hood, the vents are closer to the front. Also if the CAI adds a lil more power then why invest in the SRI?
