You can buy a g5 bumper. There's no cross bar

looks empty imo... unless you put in billet grille... Then it would look great.

To each their own though.

There is a plastic mesh grille in there. I agree it looks empty, (I like the thin mesh look.) The S3 ZZP heat exchanger does well to fix that problem though

No pictures for proof ATM. Been bad weather for the past 3 months here.

You'd have to get a custom grille, because the factory one has a spot set in it for the center bar

Validater, that's a G5 bumper correct? IIRC if you cut the crossbar, there will be a spot on each side where it connects to the bumper that will have a small cutout where it used to be. They are not molded smooth underneath.

all bumpers start out as chevy bumpers with the cross bars and are cut post molding for pontiacs.

Validater that looks sick that's what I'm aiming for. Did you have to replace the grill?

I don't believe they would actually do that. They probably have an insert or shutoff in the tool when they mold it (one that prevents plastic from flowing in that area), at least that would make the most sense from a manufacturing perspective.

I started out by sanding the cross-bar cutout flush and filling in the wholes it left. I then had to take a Cobalt grille and cut out all the bars, and sand it flush. at the cross-bar section of the grille there is also a chunk missing so I had to plastic weld that back in. Then I glued in a plastic mesh behind the grille opening.

This is not an easy job. But seeing as I work in a bodyshop. It was easy enough for me to complete in a day. (said 1 day was spent on grille mockup and final assembly) I had the bumper prepped and painted on a seperate weekend.
