Dash SS Badge - (and flooded cobalt repair)

So, I've known for a while that some Cobalts came with the small SS like this:

I had assumed it was 2007 and up when I saw it, but then i saw an 06 with it as well.

My 2006 has a larger SS on the dash:

(That picture was taken the day after the car was in the flood, she's cleaner now..lol)

Did any Cobalts come with this emblem or did the previous owner change mine?

Previous owner definitely put the larger "SS" emblems on the dash.

You can't buy the small dash "SS" emblem separately -- you have to buy the whole dash trim piece for an SS/NA or SS/SC, so it's pricey.

Saturday/Sunday

The following weekend:

Two weeks later:

I understand why they would've put the door one on there instead of buying the whole piece. Thanks!. I kinda like it, anyway..lol

Now THAT's a quick turnaround. If only a RWD conversion were that fast

Much kudos on the quick restore. And yeah, that SS badge looks much too large, I'm voting previous owner.

Yeah, it's supposed to have the smaller SS. Even the 05s had it.

those pics made me cry..... looks just like my red 2006 S/C... the pic where the water is up to the window, and then the pic where you can barely see the sunroof above the water... holy jeeeez..... I lost my breathe for a minute there... when did this flood happen?? I try to put my car in the garage every time I even THINK it might hail or anything... I would be going bananas!!!! way to dry it out and re-vive it... hope you have no problems down the road....

It's already been proven on this site that the engine can run underwater

Not sure how many members can remember that epic LOL post.

I Drained all the fluids onto the parking lot that next day.. (EPA, what?)

Pulled the SC and wet vac'ed the intake out..
Unhooked the fuel line and jumped the relay to pump out the gas tank
Separated the gas and water and POURED THE GAS BACK IN IT!
Pulled plugs and spun it over..
Reassembled and fired it off that night (despite the fact that it was still muddy and wet, hearing her run made it a doable project).

Yes, and after a 2 week battle they totalled the car and I bought it back with a settlement good enough I could pay the car off and repair it.

Well, everytime i hear thunder now, I'm ready to pack-up and leave town..lol

After it was all said and done, I ended up with less than $2,000 in the car, so I figured I could risk having a few gremlins down the road with that small of an investment

Sometimes a good carpet scrubbing will get it out. He DID say he had it down to a shell, so he probably replaced the carpet if it still reeked after cleaning/drying.
