De-tinting tails.
So I went to get an inspection sticker today and, big fat R
The great state of Massachusetts has decreed that you cannot tint your tail lights at all. Since mine were incredibly dark they failed me.
Decided to start a huge project of getting that tint off. Word of the wise to folks tinting your tail lights, if you want them to be shiny use clear coat, if you want to be able to get this damn stuff off again leave it by itself!
The problem I am running into is that lacquer thinner gets the VHT niteshades off no prob but the damn clear coat I used will not budge with paint thinner or lacquer thinner. I have to literally scrape it off to get to the tint underneath.
I have 3/4 lights done so far and my head is all sorts of woozy from the fumes. No more tinted tail lights damnit...
So if anyone happens to be looking for a way to get the nite shades off, lacquer thinner, rub it fast and clean it off before it eats the plastic on your lights
