I just debadged my car yesterday with a heat gun but I can't quite get all of the sticky residue off the back trunk. Its not noticable at all but its still annoying any suggestions???

Goo Gone and a very soft cloth.

Will work, 100% guaranteed. That's what I used.

Sorry to dig up an oldish thread. Just wanted to know two things. If you use Goo Gone, do you have to reapply the wax? Also, I wanted to rearrange the lettering of Cobalt on my car but does that mean I have to reapply adhesive to the lettering and if so, what brand/kind?

I believe it was determined that all the factory used was epoxy, so pop down to your local hardware store and get some of that.

I don't think you HAVE to wax it, seeing as it's not gasoline, but hey, who needs an excuse to wax their car?

no goo gone is a citrus based solvent like thinner, laquer is a much more aggressive body solvent

Yeah, I made the mistake of using varsol (same white bottle, just brown label instead of light blue label in a 4 litre bottle) and couldn't figure out why it looked faded, luckily the wax took it out very nicely.

i used goo gone on my black balt and you cant even tell as long as you do a wax on your trunk afterwards. i just used a bottle of mothers caranuba wax and a rag nothing too fancy. but take you time with the goo gone, i sat at the car wash for 2 hours scrubbing and making people mad but im glad i took my time.
