Difference between Cobalts...

Key things to know the difference between Cobalt SS's based on just seeing one....

SS/TC have different upper and lower grills

ALL SS/TC have Brembo's

SS/NA rear bumper is different

There is a 4 door SS/TC... Any other 4 door SS is SS/NA

05 and 06 SS/SC all have high rise spoilers... low rise was an option only on 07's

Low rise spoiler was a option

best way to tell differences between ss/tc ss/sc from ss/na is the front and rear lip on the bumpers.

Typically people with ss/na's don't do this mod because it is very expensive.

ss/tc's also have different upper and lower grills, but that can be easily mimiced.

all ss/tc's have brembos. no brembos means its either an ss/sc or ss/na. i believe most ss/sc have the ss lip on the front and back. the ss/na rear bumper is also different

They make a Turbo 4 door SS, so all 4 doors are not N/A

And as far as the SS with the low rise, I've got a SS/SC that came with the low rise. I believe in 05 & 06 the high rise was standard but in 07 in became an option. Not 100% on that tho. But full on SS/SC's did have a low rise option in atleast some years, like my 07 SS/SC

brembos is a big one

rims are typically sold and such on here so its easy for ss/na and ss/sc people to get ss/tc rims

Easy way to tell an SC is the Rims, TC dot put the Wide spoke rims on there cars
Also the SC have horizontal upper grills and no lower grills
SC also have 2 side emblems while TC only have the SS

Theres a sticky on this somewhere...

But..
The high rise was standard on The SS from 05-08, in 08 the low rise was an option; 09 the high rise was an option, 2010 its only the low rise

I know they changed the G85 package with the SS/SC's in 07, has to do with the recurs, not sure on the specifics tho..

2009 SS/TC's had the USB option on the Radio's along with an RPD option,
2010 SS/TC's had both standard
LSD's always been an option(for some ridiculous reason)

an along from subtle interior changes and engine changes the LS-LT1 have been the same
They stopped marketing the 2.4 as the SS/NA in 07 or 08? after that it was jus the 'sport' model

There were 05 and 07's with recaros as well, just a low number. Easy way to tell different years of the SS/SC:

2005- SS emblems halfway up the door
2006- SS emblems on the bottom of the door
2007- slightly different wheels. a slight indent in the center of the wheel with an extra lip on the backside of the spoke. Also chrome was an option.
2008-10 all look the same lol

No, got mine brand new. No recaros either, I got leather with heated seats, G85, low rise, moon roof, and NO onstar.
IMO Well except for the brand new part. I will never buy brand new again (car) unless I make it rich some how

LNF has exclusive wheels. Chrome means 2.4L or LSJ.

And all this stuff is assuming the car is factory

Headlights in 05-06 have the amber cover by the turn signals, 05-06 have a different steering wheel than 07- UP. Radios in 05-06 are different that 07 - UP. No OnStar available in 05-06. All years except SS/TC had different types of tires. SS/NA have 17's whereas SS/SC have 18's. Did the GM badges on the fenders carry through all years?

True, and there are a lot of people that have gone to the expense of putting the SS bumpers on LT/LS and if i remember right there is at least one guy with an SS that he put the LT bumpers on.

The best way to tell, open the hood

The 2.4s were marketed as SS in 06 and 07, as the Sport in 08, and were dropped in 09.
