do it yourself tint

i have a frined who has done tint on a couple of his cars and they always turn out okay, maybe a small bubble here or there but it looks good. how well does do it yourself tint hold up? is it a bad idea. people always say just get it done but why, whats so much better the way they do it?

you can do it yourself, its possible to do it and make it look good. I wouldn't. every tint job i'd done there is always an issue with one of the windows, i need to take mine in and bubble fixed. almost everyone had a warranty with their work, and i've always ended up taking advantage of their warranty. its well worth the extra bucks.

if you don't mind the purplish looking windows when look thru them from the outside then use the do it yourself....to me looks a lil trashy. Have someone do it for ya and get the ACTUAL tint lol

You may be able to do the side windows by yourself but that rear window is going to be a pain in the ass. I would just pay the money to have a professional do it. If you do decide to do it yourself to i hear a heat gun will help to get all the bubbles out.

yeah go get it done by a pro. The do it yourself has more issues of coming apart a few years down the road, and has a more purple look to it after years of sunlight. If that happens with a pro job, it will be covered under warranty. By the way, if you DIY, good luck on the dot matrix. Took a pro that has tinted 8 years 2 different tries to get it right. Turns out 2 of the dots of the dot matrix ended up in the middle of the back window from the factory, drove the guy nuts.

Im a tinter and work at a local shop! Pre-cut tint is a joke and your enviroment is what makes the tint look good. Also pre-cut is junk film 99.9999% of the time!
