Dome Light Question

Quick question here, does anyone have a Cobalt or G5 (with no sunroof obviously) that has a dome light with two lights on the front half in addition to the large one aimed at the rear seats? I've been cruising around visiting all the dealerships in my area to check on this but every damn car has the dome light with just the giant light on the back half and the button on the front. I'm trying to figure out if these exist, so if you have one, please post what year and model your car is, and a picture would be just super fantastic cause then I'd have a visual aid.

There was a guy on here I believe that installed a rearview mirror in his Cobalt with map lights on the bottom of it.

but, on mine, the two little lights are actually on the back side of it. so, they like light up directly over head.

You mean you'll have the entire dome light unit available? Name a price if so.

not the entire unit no... i only have the actual light fixture and a half broken switch. i could probably get the cover lens if you really wanted me to.

id probably sell the fixture for 5 bucks and shipping to Canada is probably around 10 (id have to check) then whatever the dealer wants for the lens

Alright, I'll try my dealer today to see if I can manage to get them to look up the right parts for this thing so I can get a rough price idea. I've tried places like gmpartsdirect but when it comes to the dome light they're of no help cause everything is too "generic" in the diagrams and labels.

That would be of great help if it's for the light I'm looking for.

i cant stand the lack of dome light in the SS. the map lights on the rear view just dont cut it.

reminds me of a funny situation. the wife and i were haveing a discussion over whos car was better the cobalt or the redline...
and she brings up the lack of dome light thing, i say its because of the sunroof , then she precedes to point out that her redline has both front and rear dome lights despite having a sunroof...
i could only come back with ...well at lest my gauges are in the right place... fail on my part.

That is fricken fantastic, now the dealer won't look so confused when I ask them to get me this thing.

On another note, holy hell that's bright. Which LEDs did you buy for that?

Alright, all my stuff came in, but now I need one more bit of info. The place where the plug would connect to the housing has four pins in it. Can anyone who has this version of the dome light check and see if you can see what color wire goes to what pin? I did some experimenting using the wiring that goes to the rear view mirror, but that plug only has three wires, so I couldn't figure out how to get everything to work right yet. The mirror's plug has a black, gray, and blue with white stripe wire. I suspect the dome light uses these same wires, plus one other, but I still need to know which pin each wire leads to.

??? really depends on which one you got. The only 2 are the one with the 2 individual buttons in the back and the one with the big front one only. Coupe/sedan doesnt matter it came on diffrent trims. If the dome itself not cover was 10 bucks or so you got the single edition. the 27 dollar one is the 2 button. no idea on the price of the plastic thou so you have to factor that in too

I have absolutely no idea why sunroofed Cobalts and G5 have no dome light. My Z24 has it and there's tons of room back there, same with Sunfire GT/SE. Probably the only thing GM did right in the J as opposed to Cobalt.
