door molding/removal?

I've got door moldings down the side of my car. Was wondering if these were taped on or clipped on. The paint is really starting to fade on them and looks like ****. I'd take them off but I don't want to get stuck with the holes for the clips or whatever else might fasten them on.
Anyone do this?

No holes I'll have to fill in? I've removed all the other emblems. It was a pain but I did it fine. I just don't want to fill any holes in that might be there if they were tacked on or something. Never did any moldings before. But the paint is toast on them. looks like ****

make sure to use fishing line all the way down the side molding dont stop once u got it alil off and pull it off the rest of the way to much adhesive gets left on the car that way and involves alot more work

Yeah thats how I did everything on my tailgate. Still was a pain in the ass to remove all the left over adhesive. But at least I know what I'm getting myself into now.

easiest thing ever....you know how you hold dental floss? a little bit wrapped around each of your index fingers? Get some string..about the size you would use to fly a kite...and put it around your fingers like that...then get on the side of the molding and put that string in the tiny amount of space between the molding and door (against the double sided tape thats holding the molding on) and move the string up and down....the friction from the string will cut through that sticky ass tape like a razor blade. it took me maybe 3 sec. to get em off.

wouldn't that be basically the same thing as fishing line? I did that with the emblems on the back. But wrapped them around to pencils and held them instead. but it down down the middle of the 3M so I had to rub everything off still.

This is going to be really easy if it's 75+ degrees outside. Just some string and your good to go. I would suggest a plastic spatula like this

instead though as I kept breaking 20lbs fishing string.
