Hmmm. Let me look on my Cardomain....

That is my old 2.4L Cobalt.... :crys: It had 2 Magnaflow mufflers (part no. 14826). It sounded badass.

The way the ran the dual outlets was basically after the rear axle they did a "y split", but it was more like a "t split" because it was a 90 degree angle, and than they brought it over & back.

yea that looks like the second pipe T's off the the main one and i know it doesnt hardly get any flow. this is why im tryin to see what others have cuz i dont what to do it like that. i either want to use a Y pipe just after the axle then two fart can still magnaflo's or use a cross flow magnaflo (like camaros and T/A's use) just under the trunk and have two tips.

I'm interested in this also. I was thinking of buying another Megan muffler and then having someplace use a Y-pipe and bring the pipe over before the axle and that way it would still get some flow. Anyone know if that idea will work?

Best bet may be getting a dual muffler thats for something like a neon that sits sideways and has two outlets because like said above the one that is furthest from the split isnt going to NEAR as much flow out..

yea thats why i thought bout usin a cross flow muffler like the camaros and t/a's use. its single in dual out but one side has an inlet and outlet and the other side has a oulet. i was just wonderin how bad it would look cuz i'd have to put it under the trunk and im worried bout it lookin like **** hangin under there. im bout to put a ss/sc rear lip on the car so it will help hide it. any thoughts on that?

Well see the camaro muffler will work but the thing is that a muffler made for a v8 is going to sound like poop on our cars.. the neon muffler is the same type of sideways dual outlet muffler except it is made for our size engines

Think the cross wise install would leave the muffler hanging waaay too low....not much clearance under the spare tire / battery compartment as it is.

Question to JPizzle - when you say the 2 Magnaflows sounded badass....how much louder, deep and rumbly or fart can raspy? Not to thread jack, just curious.

i dont have recent pics...or any lol, but i just did the "t" pipe kinda deal to, so much easyer. however one day ima go threw and try to do it better. I think the dual outlets on ss/sc's looks so badass imo.

Oh yea to the Op, i have not lost any hp or anything, its justa lil louder. So to the pople that say you will lose hp or whatever is a lie.

It was a little louder. It had a real nice rumble to it. Downshifting into second coming up to a stop right at 3,000rpms it would rumble a little bit. I think it had NO rasp whatsoever.

where would i find one made for a 4 banger and all of magnaflo's mufflers is a straight through design so i dont really think it would make a difference on how it would sound. just my thoughts on it thou. i've heard a balt with a flowmaster on it and it sounded good and i dont think they make mufflers for 4 cylinders?

Mufflers are mufflers, They aren't made for 4 bangers or v8's. They do the same exact thing

Sweeeeet, thanks

Sounds like just the ticket for me. Don't want to go too loud on the dd, really don't mind the tone of the stock system but it is a bit too quiet.

i am a personal fan of the dual exhaust. i do have a bias because i drive a truck but it can look good on cars too, as long as the cans aren't too big..

So it turns out that it's next to impossible to split the exhaust before the axle. I'm having a free flow Y-split put in immediately after the axle.

i dont even want the fart can look.. i have a megan cat back on my car now and im tryin to get away from the fart can look all together. i think i may get two of the normal magnaflos, two magnaflo 4" tips, and a magnaflo Y pipe to put just after the axle.
