Are there any good ones? I only found Momo ones for $108. The stock ones are so damn ugly...

i have a Chrome sparco one with like a little red rubber piece its pretty nice and a black shift boot to cover up the metal. It looks sweet in my opinion.

oh yeah and when i did mine i had do to do no cutting or any special work...just ripp the old one slap on the new it comes with some screwws that kinda...."dig" into the plastic and is snug as a bug dude...then i just stuff the boot in the whole and it looks clean as hell.

black-balt 01-25-2009 11:51 AM

there's a hot to on custom E-brake handles, you need an automatic shift knob and a shift boot, it's basically the same thing, I'm going to be doing this real soon on mine

where did you get yours at, i tried to do the e-brake mod on my last balt and it was a pain in the ass. i'd much rather just be able to throw a new one on there

Someone needs to do a how-to when they change thiers out as it seems there are a few interested but unsure how to.

I went with the slightly more expensive momo option ($80 on ebay), the less expensive universal e-brakes looked cheap imo.

The e-brake boot if from an M3, I just trimmed a little of the excess leather off and tucked the rest in the opening for the e-brake handle.

With the handle I picked all I had to do is twist off the old plastic e-brake cover and slide the new cover on and install the set screws that were supplied with it, feels more solid than the factory brick.

So you guys that say you just tucked the boot in, I would think that looks like shit????
Any close up pics of where it's tucked in????

I'd like to do this mod but I'm worried about how the boot will look.

Thanks!

I broke down and ordered the momo handle and boot, $130 shipped for both off ebay. Expensive but i think its worth it to look high quality and replace the ugly ass stocker.

black-balt 01-25-2009 08:11 PM

I'm going to go to autozone and get the $20 carbon fiber handle, and but a boot from somewhere lol

Can you link the exact store you bought yours from?

codytheoutlaw 01-26-2009 11:33 AM

did you buy the adapter kit, or did it fit without it. the handles on ebay all say you need the adapter.

Same one, the steel. I like aluminum but think I might go with some type of steel theme on the interior.

the aluminum one was too bling for me. i think the steel will look better with the rest of the silver in the interior.

here is the store i bought mine from.
