vertical doors (the company) makes a great kit...for most door applications thru out all companies the shock should be strong enough to lift the door all u have to do is provide the momentum...

Yea momentums the problem girlfriend wants to make sure the shock does most the lifting. She doesnt want to lift up a heavy door getting in and out of the car.

high maintenance much? jk but yeah honestly if it lifts it up automatically, then she has to pull it down to get into the car... its not gonna be no effort both ways

for momentum i ment opening it...on the kits i have personally experianced (i live right by vertical doors, gt factory, and jt autobody) they all push themselves up when the door is opened to its certain point before it goes vertical...no door lifting was needed

Some companies you can pay extra and the come with different options for the kits. I have seen vertical doors with an electric motor to open and close them all you do is hit a button. You might be able to get that for your kit.

a friend of mine had the doors that open with a motor..problem with those though is the weight killing the motor from repeated every day use.

Just make sure they come with heavy duty shocks. and I have the JT kit and the 150lbs shocks arn't good enough. there are some kits that have a dual shock set up that is 300lb per door this should be enough.
