Question Engine Plastics

Is there a reason for the plastics on there, i would think it would run cooler if it wasint on there and i see most of you guys dont have it on. The only reason i am asking is because i am thinking of taking them off. So should i????

i would think it traps heat, and joewit is right, it is mostly to reduce in cabin engine noise.

i use to drive a 66' mustang with a built 302ci V8 so this car doesint make a 1/4 of the noise my stang did. Yea i do think the plastic retains heat as well.
