to be DOT approved, all you need is to have the right color bulbs
plus, nobody even cares

somebody on here took out both amber pieces, and used chrome tape to go over the hole

You have to have amber colored bulbs for a turn signal, yes. However, you have to have some sort of reflective amber side marker in the front (or something amber reflective viewable from the side). That's why the amber reflector is in the headlight... not just the amber lens for the signal.

Haha... don't get me wrong. Just cause that's what's legal doesn't mean I don't wanna see what you're gonna do with them.

firsthgeadlight is open, it took about 15 mins of heating then about 30 secconds to ope it, i had to clean up cuz i smashed my thumb rlly good with a flathead.... rather than shaving the squar, i think i will black it out so whoever buys this dosent get introubble for no reflecter, it will be black but reflect when it needs too, also with the orange lense on the turn signal, i think i wanna black that too rather than take it off

ya i was going to do flip flop paint if anyone wanted it, and yes the housings come stock chrome thats why everyone paints them. I said not chrome becxause by aying silver i didnt want somone to think i could blend the orange into the stockl housing..... i was going to make it so you dont need the giant lense but there are too many probs, also if i did it right i could make halos out of El wire so that you guys can have halos without the LED's and stuff
