anyone do i how to remove painted eyelids on headlights.... The easiest way

 

paint thinner, but i dont know if that will have an adverse effect on the headlight lenses

were they sanded 1st? I didnt sand mine so just incase I didnt like it. But I would think a power sprayer would work somewhat

 

a high power sprayer? like from a hose?

 

well kinda more like from a car wash place try and spray underneath the paint

 

will it damage anything?

 

The plastic is polished so it shouldn't tear up the lenses, but the paint would probably start to flake off with enough pressure.

I used paint thinner and just scrubbed hard and worked fast and they came off without any adverse effects.

 

oh ok.... Well would it be safe to tint them after?

 

with niteshades or window tint?

 

Nightshades yes, just let them dry.

Window tint would probably peel or be hard to get to conform perfectly to the lense

 

just repaint to color match

 

well i tried to remove with high pressure but no luck

 

hmm it worked with my nightshades on my tails ( not on purpose tho) lol. did u do them your self or did u buy them from someone here? usually people will sand it 1st before they paint them. if thats the case good luck and get a lot of thinner. dont use anything abrasive tho cause it will scratch ur lense

 

i just found out that the lights were primered then painted

 

is there an edge to the paint or have they been clearcoated?

either way wetsand with 2000 grit and buff

a buffer and rubbing compound. i prefer 3M extra cut, im an auto painter and use it everyday.

 

cuz the primer is a bitch to get off and then i still have to buff after i get it all off

 

i still cant get this primer off

 

are the eyelids ugly or something?
just paint them black to match your car

i scuffed the lens taking it all off
