To make good ones that fit the car your going to have to make them. I might make some. Undecided if I want to make flares or just slit and pull the quarters out for a stock look.. honestly if you have never glassed flares before your better off slitting the quarters

bringing this thread back from the dead again.

I know it wouldn't be the simplest as some glassing would have to occur, but starting with a flare off another platform would be the best start IMO. Search miata flares, there are TONS of options/sizes as I've found out from looking for mine

case in point, example below may be large enough to fit on a balt wheel well?

I still want to see this done on a balt

chris, you make carbon fiber parts all the time!

just mold some flares yourself! you can probly remake the front fenders no problem all the while widening them... ok done deal...

as for the rear make an extension that bolts on over the existing flares

I think I'm just gonna make some carbon flares for the front tbh, won't b n e thing crazy, don't need alot just enough to fit some 255-265 tires in there when aired out, rear I dunno what ill do. Not sure how I feel about cutting the rear quarter as its not something I could just " return to stock"

Making a flare is pretty easy tbh, we'll from what I've googled atleast, to make the plug all u need is some tape, foam/spray foam, knife, sandpaper, bondo. to make the mold tooling gelcoat, and fiberglass/resin.

And then the part, carbon or fiberglass/resin and vac bagging supplies (optional)

The ford is wicked and the balt looks sexy too. Eff the haters. Do you!

In college I 1999 saturn SC2 mh dad and i custom turbo'd and it put 363 to the wheels. Miss it every day. Bottom line is i wish i would have thought of flares to put on big fat shoes so i could have had traction 1st-3rd.

When you start making big piwe in a light weight FWD car its impossible to keep it planted and become borderline undriveable.

DO EEETTTT!!

Do you have a link to your picture(s)? I'm thinking of doing flares on my sedan balt. Wanna toss in some wider tires with spacers.

If you are in Socal I will gladly help you do them free of charge. I will get pictures to you as soon as I figure this thing out.I can also give advice on wheel and tires setup as well, believe me with flares your options for wheel setup increase drastically.

not sure if you got the PM about the specs but here it is again,
*note- this setup only works with the flares and look this car has,
this is just what I am running, if you do this wheel setup it will poke out too
much and will have clearance issues, and look like crap lol.

-my setup
WHEELS- XXR 527.
Size- 17x8.25 +25 offset.
Tires-225-45-17.
TIRE BRAND-hankook ventus V12.

I got the set of universal flares.
The flares I got were about 3inches wide, at the widest point "top".
I hope everything goes well for you, and like I said, if you need anything let me know.

Well I tried it with different flares that are not made by your company and I am happy with the outcome.
Being that this was a testing ground , I am confident in going to do wider/better fitting flares and when all is done the end results will hopefully be a set of overfenders for the Chevy cobalt coupe and sedan.the process will be long but worthwhile for me.I will keep everyone posted.
