fiberglass/carbon fiber parts.

ok the delema i have some body panels i need to copy and make out of fiberglass/carbon fiber or pure carbon i want the carbon fiber look.... i have these panels, the parts are not out to aftermarket vendors yet. so if i want this look i have two options, i can cover my body panels with carbon to give it the look however i want to keep the originals wihtout messing them up. so i figure i need to use my panel to make a one off mold to lay fiber and carbon in. im good with laying the stuff but as to how to do this im not good at. what would be the easiest way to make a replica...?

Make a fiber glass mold. You do it just like you would any other mold. Prep the panel, use wax/mold release, then start making the mold. Once all your glass is laid keep adding layers to build up the mold strength. Then your ready to release the mold. It's really not hard to do just time consuming. The prep is the key. The better your surface prep the less prep you will have to do on the mold before you can start making parts.

Just a note you should vacuum bag or preferably infuse the carbon fiber parts. You probably knew that but I thought I'd throw it out for those who don't.
