This wont work if you have a cat. You can hollow your stock one out by beating the crap out of it but otherwise it will get plugged with fuel and eventually increase the backpressure so much that your car wont run at all.
You could get a second fuel pump, mount it to a switch and make it so it dumps the fuel after the cat. You could really just go to a junkyard and pick up all the parts you need to do something like this.
You really only see this on older cars, ones that don't have cats...

Hope ya gettin it working, want to see vids.
When i start messen with my 66' stang i wann try tunning the carb to do this. After i install the bbk ceramic coated shorty and the duel exhaust.

You just rig up a fuel pump like you said, and put a sparkplug in or close to the tip, and volia, flames. Also you will need something to activate the sparkplug, check e-bay.
are you aware of what your doing to your car?
Those kits often force your car to skip a few spark ignitions, so that a large quantity of unburnt fuel passes directly into the exhaust stream, and is then simultaniously ignited by a spark plug in your exhaust.
(please note im not hating on the idea itself, there are more expensive, professional kits out there, involving separate fuel feeds, and controlled flame, that would do this far more safely than the cheap junk you find all over the net)
remember, the explosion your causing to come out your tailpipe does not know that you only want it coming out the back end.
It will quite happily ignite all the way up your exhaust pipe.

I wont even deny it.. it'll be effing sexy.... but ... I bid you good luck and hope it REALLY does not back fire (literally back fire up the exhaust to the engine) Insurance won't cover that lolz. *knocks on wood*
