Fog light wattage???

Fog light wattage???

I did a search but never really found a clear answer...what is the highest wattage fog light bulb that i can use without causing damage to the wires, and is this wattage for light input or output???.....thanks!!

Don't change your wattage higher then factory recommended. You are asking for problems with melting wiring. It has happend on here with other people more then once. I believe the stock rating is 55W. And the wattage is light OUTPUT.......I believe.

55w bulb

IMO you should never draw more wattage through stock wiring.

if you do want to run higher (which is illegal btw) i would consider rewiring the headlight power wiring to handle the higher juice.

Flames coming out your hood one day isnt worth the risk.

draw or output is what i meant to ask...all the ones i find have a draw of 55w but output of around 100w

keep in mind going with a higher wattage bulb, even if wired with relays, can cause damage to the housings, it will melt them. from what ive read, you can put h11 hids in the stock driving lights (they are driving lights, fog lights are yellow) without them blinding oncomming cars.

Sorry for the thread revival... but I need to make sure of this before putting a set of driving lights in my '07 balt. Is the 100W output too much for stock wiring with a 55w draw?

55w input. Don't worry about the output since that is not how much wattage it is pulling.
