Front license plate mounting options

Got pulled over yet again for no front plate and I think it's time I put a front plate on my car. I reallyyyy don't want to have to put the stock bracket on as I feel it's too bulky. I also used to have the electronic hide-away plate but it was too low and I'm worried I'd rip it off.

So, any other ways/ideas to mount a front plate?

I have the manual hideaway, scrapes quite a bit but don't think it will rip off.

Tin snips to cut the license plate down, door edge moulding, 4 wire ties and a drill.

i know i'm in PA and we don't need front plates but i was always under the impression as long as it was visible looking at the front of the vehicle you're ok, and sometimes on the dash works and sometimes it doesn't, all depends on the cop.

i actually like Sox's idea too but i don't believe it's legal and if you get a picky cop he'll probably hassle you over it...

Mine was like that for a couple years, no issues. I don't know why a cop would mess with you. The expiration sticker is on the back of the car, not the front. The state is still showing. The letters are clearly visible.

I only chopped about half an inch off top and bottom. More of the plate is showing than many plate frames actually show.

I recently got a new front bumper and debating what to do about mounting a plate up front too. I wonder if a picky cop would hassle you for altering the plate either bending or cutting to make it fit better, is it not technically government property?

We can't have ours in the window either. It needs to be in front of the car. I got pulled over as well for not having one. So I am in for options as well.

We can do what Sox has done, but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that yet.

Sox (or Someone) can you do me a favor if you are bored. Can you either A) Move it to either side completely as far as it'll go or B) photoshop it to one side as far as it'll go.

I am thinking I may like that better or it could be ugly as hell haha.

I no longer live in Washington and no longer need a front plate. Nothing for me to move. Remember though that the top of the opening is not completely horizontal. The more you move it, the more you have to cut it down to fit.

You also lose symmetry if that matter to you. It did to me.

Id leave it too if they don't mess with you. The screwed up part about it was there was an IROC behind me that had it in his window and he didn't get stopped, and his bumper has a place for a plate. I didn't even have the bracket on my car at the time.

The hide-away plate is definitely the best option IMO. Good enough for the PD to not bother you and you can tuck it away if you're at a meet or something. Win-win!
