Front lip SS bumper

So I was browsing the search tool the other day and I found a dude that took a 2.4 SS/NA bumper and stuck the SS/SC lip on there without buying a new SS/SC bumper with tab-holes. I was just wondering how that was possible because I wouldn't mind paying for the lip and putting it on my SS/NA bumper.

I think he said that he used doublesided tape or something. It was weird but looked good.

Thumbs up

It isn't all that hard to put the SS s/c lip on the 2.4 bumper. You can do it one of two ways. Either you cut the slits yourself in the bumper for the tabs and use the factory clips that are used on the s/c bumper. Or you can cut the tabs off of the lip and sand it down smooth and mount it with screws(on the back side of the lip, won't be visible). I'm planning on doing this in a couple months after I get my exhaust. I can only afford one mod a month Hope that helps you if you decide to get the lip.

I bought the complete kit from www.gm-car-parts.com I find them to have the cheapest prices. Also the shipping is fast as hell, recieved everything I bought with in 3 days by fedex. My total was around $1200

hey, i'm the guy with it fused to my bumper, i'm not sure what the stuff that was used is called but i will find out in a couple weeks when i get home for my days off. They had to build up the back of the lip a little so the fuser would have something good to bond to, i'll go talk to the guys who did it when i get home and let u guys know what was used.

Someone just cut the tabs off and sanded them down. Then they drilled holes/used pre-existing holes and ran some bolts and nuts to keep it in place. I'll probably just do that. Anyone know how hard it is to swap SS/Na and SS/SC rear bumpers tho?

You don't have to swap the actual bumpers. The rear of the ss s/c is also just a lip. You just have to remove the ss n/a lower extension and replace it with the ss s/c lower extension. From what I can tell, it's pretty much the same deal with the rear as it is with the front. Just cut slits or sand off the tabs.

LMAO, yea man, all you gotta do is take a close look at the S/C rear bumper... you can see that it is the same bumper (might not be the "same" bumper so don't quote me on that but by the same I am meaning, it will work) because if you measure the distance from under the back license plate (where your bumper is flat) to the start of your 2.4 lower extension with your hand, and then measure the S/C, their back lip or lower extension starts at the exact same point as ours. There's just actually wraps over the bumper. Cut your slits, buy your tabs, 2 sided tape and your in business! Will be doing to mine very soon. I will post a how to with pics.

I'd rather sand off the tabs than cut slits in my bumper lol.

you know, this would be a lot easier if someone actually had pictures to explain the cutting/sanding/placement of tabs and such. basically, if anyone has pictures please help explain.
