Hey man I live in NJ too and I have 20% all around and yes cops are a HUGE pain in the ass with it. I'm not sure how they are where you are, but around here they're crazy. I've had it on my car since May(?) of 2008 and I've been pulled over (no lie) 26 times for it. I've gotten out of it most of the time because I'm a volunteer firefighter and they're usually more cool and just say to take it off. But it's becoming such a pain in the ass I'm really considering taking it off even though it looks great.

i don't live in NJ but i live in NY and cops are a joke
i got pulled over july 19th bc i went under and thru a red light and the cop nabbed me for that and than for my tint. gave me 2 tickets.pled guilty to tint and was just going pay the fine. mailed in the ticket and to this day i haven't gotten anything back.
now i got pulled over last Friday and got another ticket for tint so i said **** it and went and got my front 2 windows removed and re tinted with 50% and i left the quarter windows and rear windshield 20%
but i got a receipt saying i removed the tint. so that will get me outa the recent ticket im not sure about the ticket from july

9 tint tickets in the Evo (2 yrs.) and 3 tint tickets in the SS/SC (2 yrs.), but like everyone else said, it depends on your area.

Now I have been pulled over for speeding...

Most of them down here don't care as long as your car isn't EXCESSIVELY loud or rice.

One of the local cops in town owns a STI, commented on how clean my car was one day when I ran into him off duty...it helps.

There's a cop around my area that owns an Evo as well... just never had the chance to meet him...so I still get tint tickets haha. 12 tint tix, 2 no front plate, 1 too loud, 1 speeding, and 1 mandatory court date for....take a guess which one...speeding?....nope... tints and too loud (that cop was a jerk off).

How the **** is your car too loud?

Your car is the reason why I decided to go catless when I got this car. There isn't anything loud about it.

Yeah tint is a big nono in NJ. depends where you live and what the cops are more interested in. Ive got 20% up front and 5% in the rear. Ill proly just be goin 30% all the way around on the Bee.....well maybe 5% all around we"ll see. LOL

Tint IS a primary offense, you can get pulled over and ticketed strictly for tint.

3.5" exhaust + no cat = loud
I'll give it to the cop, the car was loud but I mean seriously, mandatory court date? Get off your power trip and dont be jealous haha.

I've never heard the ss/tc's with not only a catless exhaust but any exhaust in general actually haha.

I ran around with a catless dp and just a res for awhile.

It was pretty loud, but managable.

Right now I am on the stock DP with the hahn...got some wrinkles to iron out with the traction control before I go and tune it again...do no catless dp for now.

In my opinion, I think tinted windows make a car look much sleeker and more agressive, thus I've come to the conclusion that I'm not taking them off...ever haha. I say get them regardless!

Yea my exhaust was 3.5" TBE and catless so it was pretty dam loud, but not to the point of obnoxious. Now that I think about it, I have yet to see a ss/tc on the road yet haha.

I tried the window down idea but when it came to inspection they told me to roll the windows up. It's up to you if you want to be pulled over and deal with the hassel.

I am not cool enough for a 3.5", so I will stick to my lowly 3" TBE

There is one SS/SC in my town, and no other SS/TCs

There are a few in surrounding towns

There is a dyno shop rallycobalt06 and I found and we are thinking about having a meet.

Thing that sucks it it doesn't have an AWD dyno.

Come inspection time in 2012 I will pay someone to look past it.

x2 on paying someone to look past the tint haha.

"lowly 3" TBE"

I see what your doing here, make me feel bad because I got the bigger exhaust and then rub in my face you found a local dyno...without AWD...thanks haha.

Where's the shop at? There's one in Woodbury, is it the same one maybe?

Hahaha I'm trying to learn this whole "South Jersey" thing still. But theres a dyno in Woodbury. Shops called AAP tuning, guys name is Wayne. He installed my meth kit amd fuel pump a while back. He mainly works on Honda/Acura but does a little bit of everything. If your interested I'll get you his number and address if I can find it.
