Paint the bowtie, then get some 3m adhesive, apply it to the bowtie, and press it back on. Wait a few hours, 24 is recommended, and bam, your done.
so the bowtie on the back of the car is bolted in? I thought that was just the front bowtie..

Ohhh, I thought you were going for the front. Nah the back comes right off. Just heat it a lil while longer, and heat it will you floss it off.

That looks awesome! So instead of taking the front bowtie off you just covered the hood around the area and spray painted? I am taking off the back bowtie completely, I just don't like the way it looks!

Front and rear cost my about $25. The SS logo's, bowties for wheels and steering wheel bowtie cost me another $25.

The front and rear came oversized so I had to cut them and I got extra smaller bowties and SS's just incase

So yeah, I probably USED about $10-$15 worth of vinyl. Hey, people gotta make money too.

(this is to do the bowtie and leave the chrome there) yeah lol, i just took tape and taped over the whole bowtie part, and then take your finger nail and use it to get your outline of the bowtie and then once you have that take your razor blade and just follow that outline and then pill tthe tape of the bowtie it self. and cover yup the front end of your car with newspaper or anything else, and get whatever color you want to paint it with and enjoy =] lol, the first coat make sure its really light and then just build it up, if you do that, the better it'll turn out, have fun, and post pictures when you get it done

LOL funny story.. I went to Lowes tonight to buy some glossy black paint for my bowtie. Found the 'perfect' spray paint.. said auto on the can, got home and did 2 full coats. Me being an idiot not realizing the cap showing the paint color was a metallic/gliterry black instead of a solid black; went ahead and painted anyway. (Also happened at around 9pm at night, so hard to see without a flashlight). So I rushed to Lowes again and got some solid black glossy paint.. I did 2 coats of that as well and now i'm just waiting for it to dry. I'll see the results in the morning and post pictures. I'm hoping it turns out okay...

yeah, that does look really nice. I like the SS emblem on the grille! I took my back bowtie off and unfortunately scratched the paint once or twice.. I tried buffing them out but it didn't work out too well. I think I might end up putting an SS badge where the bowtie used to be? P.S. check my other thread for pics of the painted front bowtie.

dang i should have told you if it was hot enought out side or if it wasnt use a hair dryer or heat gun, but anymore debadgeing use dental floss, wont scratch and use it as a saw just pull and move it back and forth, and then your left with the sticky stuff some goo gone will work with that on a rag the carfully using a putty knife
