Does the GM Matched color look the same if you paint on plastic? I want to paint my headlights the blue but dont know if it will look the same as the car.

I have some of their color matched red spray paint for my car. With the primer I used it might be a shade darker. But its damn closer (primer can affect the overall color).

But yeah its a pretty good match.

So your saying that maybe not to use primer on the plastic? Because I read a thread on painting the headlights and most people didn't even use a primer on them.

Very true. Not many people take this into consideration.

You should experiment first by finding a spare piece of plastic laying around. Use the primer method we just mentioned in the posts above. Compare the results with the car. If it looks good then go from there.

Will do, Is that plastic from the lights just ordinary plastic? If I just primer random plastic then paint it, it will be the same? Also i went to the GM website to try and find the paint, which one is it? I know my code but is it the 12oz can the is like $20 plus shipping?

A basic grey primer should be fine. And I got mine at the local chevy dealer for I think 14 bux a can. (U.S pricing)

As was said try a sample piece first before jumping in on your car. Also remember to clearcoat it (most automotive rattle can clearcoats will be fine but test first!)
