going into paint

On monday my friend is gonna start painting my car..... ok well its not gonna be a new color, but the red stripe is gonna be painted on(tomorrow I will choose shade of red) and the clear coat on the whole body will be sanded down and re cleared with a red metallic flake in it. Also the interior trim pieces will be painted to match the stripe. Pictures will be posted of it in the shop and afterwards. Tonight we took off the vinyl stripe and man does the car look plain.....

300 bucks just for materials. This is top of the line paint, and clear.

I put a poll forgot to say should I paint the front bowtie to match stripe or keep it black.

What kind of paint is the shop using? $300 seems a little cheap for materials to clear your whole car..

Sounds a little cheap.
I had my 5.0 Cougar corvette 02 electron blue w/ metallic flake and pearl

It was around 850 for paint and clear.

"the clear coat on the whole body will be sanded down and re cleared with a red metallic flake in it" is what he said, never done it, but thats what he said. Anyways as far as the bowtie if you painted it black to make it blend in, why not just take it off and do the body work to even the grill bars while it is in paint anyways?

a little update of whats going down. My car has a little hail damage nothing major only noticeable by me and a few others. So they are gonna fix the hail damage which means they are gonna paint black on the parts that need it. SO... since they are gonna use black paint I'm gonna go ahead and order the ss/sc front lip and put it on as well.

I got the ss/sc lip today, they are gonna finish wet sanding the car tomorrow. There is alot of orange peel in the paint, so its taking awhile. All the hail damage and a door ding have been fixed, pics of the car all sanded down will hopefully be posted tonight. For some reason the car looks bad ass flat black lol. I guess its the rat rod person inside me talking lol.

I got the car back today, gonna go take some nice pics. Note that ss/sc lip is not on yet, interior still needs to be painted and the end plates on spoiler are not on. Damn it looks good!!! in the light in looks like a black cherry, and in the shade it looks just black.
