good looking headlight bulbs

Hey,

I'm thinking of changing out the OEM bulbs, and wanted to know what people are putting in that are NOT HID bulbs, but give off a similar effect.

I had Silverstars in my Silverado, and liked them, but didn't seem like I could see as far.

Anyone use those PIAA super whites or something like that?

Any other good bulb out there that looks good AND helps me see better. I do ALOT of night driving.

Thanks

And either of these just plug right into the stock locations? No ballasts, or modifications needed ??

They aren't HID or anything, so no, they are plug and play.

use the search button

PIAA makes the best bulbs in my opinion, and they have a lifetime warranty
silverstars only have a lifetime of 30 days. as stated by the company
sure, they may last longer, but if the company wont back em up, why invest in em??

I've got PIAA extreme white plus bulbs in my headlights... and I'll be getting them for my fogs soon too... the light output is pure white... very nice and quite different looking from other bulbs I've seen... worth the premium price IMO.

I'll get some pics when I get my car back.

I always reccomend Silverstar bulbs as they are the brightest as far as what light is shown on the ground. Some bulbs look bright when you look at the actual bulb, but what the bulb allows you to see is most important!

Silverstreak... since you have the PIAA's....

I did a search, and was wondering what bulb type I need for the car. I saw there's a bunch of "H-types" out there and without consulting the manual ( what guy DOES THAT? ), I wasn't sure what I need...

Mercury...
I had the silverstars, and I always felt like I wasn't seeing as much as I was with stock lighting. I'm not sure if it was an optical illsuion.. paranoia, or just a result of the color making things look that way. I loved the way they picked up reflective signs, roadpaint, and the like, but wasn't 100% sold on them. Maybe it also would be better in the cobalts housing than in the silverado's since they are a clear lens.
