Got to keep up... Teaser!! New Update! 9-5-08

Well because I am trendy and bored (new job has me working 3 days a week) I figured I would keep up with everyone else on css.net

For those of you that don't know, I have retrofitted a set of e55s into my headlights already, and they are still on the car.... so this picture is an extra set of lights that I am doing all the work to first then just swapping over the parts from my other headlights to make my "headlight-less" stage very very minimal.

I have the whole day tomorrow to tinker with them. I spent probably 4 hours tonight with some sheet metal and screws figuring out a good method to mount them and my fiance was like, why not just screw them down... i was like uhm hello..... holy crap! lol

Updates posted in 24 hours, I promise!

lol... after only 1 person posted i lost a lot of steam? lol. I go the passenger side housing trim in the back to allow the projector to fit in and used a piece of 1/8" sheet metal to create a flat mount service across the front and got the projector ready to mount.

Going to be doing fiberglass shrouds I think.

It looks a lot like before, just a lot of the plastic behind the projector was trimmed away.

I work at PayPal though and only work 3 days a week so you can expect updates shortly.

Here's a pic from my gallery of the headlights on the car now.

This is how it looked like after I removed the foil and tape from the lense, there hasn't been any trimming done yet to the mold.

And before anyone tries to park. That's only 2 layers of glass with 1.5 layers of matting. It's hard enough now, i can remove the shroud from the housing and glass by itself... no longer needs the mold.
So it's mounted and the shourds started. Work tomorrow and Monday, but then the rest of the week is free to finish them up

I guess that does look pretty ugly lol. Since the fiberglass was thin enough to see the tape through. I know by the end of next week where the shroud is puttied and painted, then i will get a resposne.

Here is after the last layer of matting was applied and as much tape and foil was removed. Tuesday of next week i will start sanding the edges and applying filler. Also remember that the shroud sits back behind the lip of the projector so a chrome ring can be installed (or a halo cough cough).

I understand that fiberglass might not be much to look at for some... but just wait.

Well the reason I am doing it is because I barely work during the week, so this gives me something to do.

Plus it gives me a refresher on my fiberglass days. .

Again I'd like to clairfy, they will be added to my current headlight setup, just some slight changes to make things a little sleeker.
