if it were black, or black chrome, i think it'd look good, but sunk back an inch to inch and a half.

yeah, without the center bar would be neat. i've seen it done, but not done well, so, do it! take pictures, make a how-to and kill the haters, haha.

i still like the SS/TC's the best. think of that with no center bar. mmmmm....

edit: just noticed you have a SBO balt. black chrome would be sex.

Felt like killing some time, so I googled up an image of a cobalt and tinkered with it in photoshop. Here's what I think this idea would somewhat look like:

Original

With CTS-style grille

With CTS-style grille, but without the middle bar

Very nice idea JP. I actually had this idea in mind before i bought my billet grill. But then i seen the billet grill, and it was just a simple install... and the rest is history.

Theres aguy around here who did this to his SBO SC.
It doesn't look good, those pictures make it look awsome but in reality you can aee through the mesh to much, from certain angles it looks like theres no grill on it at all.
Its a great idea, I had something similar on the mouth to my front bumper (aftermarket) on my civic. It works on the bottom but the top is just on a bad angle for the mesh.
I'd stick to the mesh from the TC's and paint it to match the body
