Wow I have to say that looks great... Keep them black!

Where did you get the scoops?

For the nay sayers the air box is in the fender well and really isn't affect by the underhood air movements.

I am sure it affects aerodynamics, but I would like to know from Wyoming_Bass what he thinks. Can you tell any difference at high speeds?

Lots of muscle car guys put scoops on there cars all the time, I can't imagine it's that bad, you think the after market hood makers actual wind tunnel test there hoods I don't...

the amount of drag that creates would be so small...your side mirrors probaly make your car less aerodynamic than those scoops..

Road **** getting in? What the hell is going to fly off the road and be sucked in? A SQUIRREL? If anything to be worried about it would be small animals when the car is parked for an extended period.
No one is arguing that it won't affect the aero slightly, Im sure having bugs on the front or stickers on the window changes the aero as well but, You need to read his post. He only races in the 1/4 mile, 100 mph max. The change in "aero" is only going to be "felt" at 120+, you said it your self...

Curtis, They look good, finish them up, do some stripes and then come back with pics.

They are GTP scoops my buddy had them for his alero he sold it and gave me the scoops they cost 250 each... i didnt spend that much but they are the actual GTP scoops from the 40th annaversary GTP. they are not replicas.

anyways the only thing i have noticed so far is how much heat they pull from inside the engine compartment you can see it on cold mornings and feel the hot air coming out at ilde or even off.

The air box isn't the only thing that controls engine temps.

ohhh grow up here....you think i was talking about a squirrel???...

no...

more along the lines of general **** thats on the roads...i know here in michigan we get all kinds of random small **** on the roads....thats why i put a gril up front and i have a few marks in the paint to prove it.

as far a "dragging force or upliffting force on the chasis" theres no way in hell the amount of air needed to do so owuld ever make it thro the hood scoops...at any speed!....plus with all the equipment in the engine bay it would be forced around and defused long before any effect would occor.

so please dont say i commonted out my ass...you simply took it out of the context in wich i was refureing.

also sorry for the multiple spelling mistakes in there.....

rofl some of you guys make yourselves look like complete morons with your technobabble bullshit.

I did 4 years with the RAAF for a Batchelor of technology in Aeronautical engineering and Aerospace and you need to shut the **** up about "aero" and making the engine hotter.

if you dont like it just say so....dont try and pretend you know about something you have no clue about. have you ever done wind tunnel testing on something you have actually made? have you ever even SEEN a wind tunnel? do you know what a coefficient of drag is? bernoullis equation?

Why dont people freak out about drag when we see weather protectors on our driver and passenger windows? they would be WAY more drag than those little scoops....

How about the effect of driving with your sunroof up..???/ ZOMG PERFORMANCE DROP AHHHHHH

your not driving top fuel dragsters or flying at mach 2.

Like i said earlier. if you dont like it. say so.. dont pretend to justify your opinion with made up facts.

jesus H christ. OP they look good man. ballzy on making them functional.

Hey man, I think they look pretty good. They're certainly different, and the fact that they're 'functional' makes it a better deal overall.

Thanks for sharing.

I have to say they do look better in person than in the pictures. He did a very competent job on them. I happened by the shop just before they cut the hood, and like with mine it wasn't a decision made lightly or without planning!

Maybe it's the fact that I was around for the muscle car days, but they look good to me because they're somewhat retro (similar to some things that were being done in the early '70's).
