Well I got it! Im going to paint it flat black Friday when im off of work. First off, I was not happy the way I received the package from UPS. Poor job in delivery. I Just stuck on my car real quick to see how it looks. Im soo excited.

My buddy works for UPS and small/medium packages = a football to them. I was like WTF?
Anyway looks great, and I'm sure flat black will look sick!

 

How hard is it? How long did it take?

 

that looks good how much did it run you ? i want just the lower one for my g5 i think it will go better with the G5 grill.

 

The lower run will run ya about 51+shipping. Plus you would need an extra 5 bucks to buy the clips.

You will be very happy with it. I hated the old style grill for one reason.

It always got wax on it and wouldn't come off. I haven't tried it on my TC, but I will be taping it off this time around.

 

Thanks for the tip. Im painting mine flat black. So hopefully the paint will stick. I probably won't even do a clear coat either.

I painted mine black as well. Just a tip: mask off the entire top part that'll be covered by the hood anyway....it runs the risk of getting scuffed and scratched up when you do anything under the hood so it being painted would just look terrible.

In other words just paint the cross-hatched part.

 

I have a black and silver them going on here.

How many coats did you all use?

Yeah, it came like that. I was soo pissed off at UPS when I saw it. I was going to call and make a big deal. Until I saw that the "goods" were good to go.

So, I didn't make a big deal. Im happy with the fact that it didn't get damaged.

I think I gave it two light coats from four directions, to get into all the crevaces, then followed that with clear done the same way.

I used gloss black though, and all this was the paint made for plastics. Drove it for 10 months, not one chip from rocks or bugs.....but rolling my car didn't do it any good

I was just going with flat black paint. I heard they also make a special gloss protective paint just used for flat black's. So im going to look more into that.
