there is two push in clips at the corner of the grill by the headlight. take those out and you'll be able to pull out on the grille enough to get the light out. you'll still have to push in a lil on the corner of the headlight closest to the grill thou.

LOL, god I know that feeling. It can come out but mine gets hung on the lower part of the light against the bumper. Pain in the ass. What's really fun is when you get it out then can't get it back in without almost breaking it.

Makes you want to throw it like a shot put.

lol gettin it back in can be a bitch some times.. you'll almost have it when you realize the lil clips thats on the bottom of the light isnt lining up and wont let the light go in.. at that point its a bitch to get it to come back out so you can get the lil clip to line up..

Once you get the hang of it it's real easy to do, you just have to know which way to push and pull. I can remove both my headlights in about 30 seconds, usually without having to pull the pins by the grille.

I got a paint chip taking out my stock headlights, pissed me off so bad, funny thing was I didnt even force it very hard, so watch out in that corner closest to the grill.

its a bitch and I always forget the way i figured out by the time i go to do it again lol I think I saw it about, just push the inside part in and wiggle, removing the pins holding the bumper and pushing the flat part below the headlight down helps too.

i'll agree they are bad but there are worse, the torrent you have to remove the grill to get it out, the buick lucerne (08-09) you have to remove the whole bumper to get the headlight housing out. and there are a few others that are way worse then the cobalt. but at the same time there are alot that are a hell of alot easier then the cobalt as well.

and to the OP just do what everyone else has been saying and you will be fine.

very true. i liked my 98 s-10. just pull to clips up and the headlight will fall out.. so much easier when it comes to bulb changes or new headlights.

OP the output of those new bulbs you got doesnt look to bad.
