You can buff out the headlights just like you can buff out the paint. Do you have a random orbital?

yeah i know i can go and buy a restoration kit, but they are in good shape except for this long ass scratch across the lens... i dont want to pay 22 dollars for a restoration kit when theres not much restoration needed, i was meaning more like items you can find around the house, sorry for the confusion

the clear coat restoration stuff at walmart will most likely work good. comes with everything except a drill lol. fine grit pads, polish stuff.. the works lol. you could also use that scrach x stuff and some elbo grease if ya wanna save money. i use it to repair scrached up cd's

there isnt much you can do unless you have some rubbing compound already there or fine grit sand paper. i heard toothpaste with a lil water works on cd's but it takes forever. u might try that on you headlights. they are both plastic to it should work if you have the time.

I can see the update to this thread....

well I had a scratch in my head light and used some random/ghetto household item to try and buff it out instead of buying a measily $22 kit that I could reuse if I ever need to buff another scratch out down the road, and now my headlight is ruined. WTB headlight $60 bucks.....
but seriously though man, you wanted options on how to get the job done and done well and you got them. You should have started your thread stating you wanted to git-r-dun the ghetto way

/endrant please don't take offense ha

If they were scratched during shipping why not deal with either the shipping company or the company who shipped them to you??

id say see how much trouble itl be to deal with the company since they were scrached during shipping. im broke so thats what i would do. plus you still got your stock lights. its not like you absolutly have to hqave them right now to drive right?
