Headliner Fabric

Anyone know what it is and where to get it?

I have a project idea and it involves trying to match the factory interior as much as possible.

Help a brother out...

do you mean like our specific fabric?

maybe not our exact fabric but it is headliner fabric.

In my local autozone it is on isle one, next to where the steering wheel covers and floor mats are, kinda hidden. Maybe they all don't carry it I dunno.

yea, our specific fabric, not the felt-like stuff most cars have. i'm talking about the actual cloth they use.

If ur looking to find exact match fabric for our headliners, that's gonna be a toughy. I tried finding headliner material once and didn't do so hot. I would hit up a local crafts store that carries fabric for sewing and stuff, they usually have all kinds of crazy stuff in there.

yeah, thought about that too, it may be a possibility.

Trying to avoid changing everything to suede, i think using the same fabric as the headliner would make for a very clean look.

That it would...but the auto industry has alot of their crap custom made specifically for auto use so it's really hard to find it on store shelves. I mean, you could go with a very fine woven burlap and that'd be close, but really hard to work with. I say just get a nice durable fabric in the color you want at a crafts store, it'll save you alot of hassle.

goooooood luck with that. They use extra sticky adhesive nowadays since the olden years cars always had saggy headliners. That **** is almost impossible to get off the headliner. Tried it once on a talon i had, tore the fabric up. Didn't matter tho cuz I was re-wrappin it anyway with my own fabric.

If you do wanna try it tho, a heat gun and tons of patience will be necessary to loosen the glue. You might end up scorching the fabric with the heat gun or staining it with the glue from underneath. I'm not tryin to be a party pooper and shoot down ur ideas or anything, I'm just lettin ya know what I have experienced personally in the past while messin around with a headliner and trying to find fabric for it.
