HELP! De-badging Help Needed!

Hey guys, I just went out and tried my first de-badge. I started with the small GM logos on the sides. I used fishing line and got the first one off. When it fell off it left behind all the sticky backing stuck to my car. I peeled most of it off, but the rest wont come off! Ive scraped with my fingernails, used bug and tar remover, water, scrubbed, everything i think of. The rest will not come off?! What should I do? Help me please im kinda freaking out it looks like ****.
Anybody got a link to a full blown correct how-to cause serching didnt help. Anyone know what to get it off with?

Please HElp! Thanks!

put the bug and tar remover on there and let it sit a while...just keep repeating, took me around 2 hours for the bowtie, cant even think about how many times i repeated the process of leaving it on there and rubbing with the heal of ur thumb to try and roll the gray stuff off, the word COBALT came off real easy maybe 10 min total, good luck

GooGone FTW! Thats what I used. It worked great. Also, use the search button. There is a good how-to write up on it.

heat gun and plastic razor blades to remove....use solvent (or paint thinner if you dare, to remove rest of glue residue)

i use some stuff called "sticky stuff remover" from the local supemarket. works awesome, never had any problems and works on pretty much anything. whatever you use, make sure you wipe the excess as it drips down the side of the car, and also make sure you clean it afterwards.

wow this site has a horrible search engine. I can't find anything ever.
I just searched "debadge" in the how to section under thread titles and it came up with:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

anyways thanks, ill have to buy some of that tomorrow. Is it safe to let it sit overnight with the sticky **** all over, will it be harder to remove?

eraser wheel, or go to a auto paint supplier and get some light duty solvent (PPG DX440)

also, please make sure you wash the car afterwards, than give the removal areas a lil wax and buff it up a bit, especialy if you have had your car for a while. it will probably leave an outline of whatever emblems you removed, my gm's didn't, but my bowtie you could tell had been removed, a lil bit of wax and buffing later and it was good as new (tip, remove all the emblems from the trunk and then just wax the whole darn thing so the finish isn't uneven)

Definitely use a hair dryer and just make sure to get the heat on all the sides so all the glue heats up, then just run fishing line through the back of it and try to push it towards the body of the car so most of the glue comes off on the badge. Then, I just used WD-40 and just soaked the remaining glue to break it apart. Then with just use a rag to roll over the remains to get it off, just make sure no matter what you use to break apart the glue, to clean and put fresh wax over where the remover was.
