Help a gal decide what to do with her Sunburst Orange:-)

Hey guys (and gals!)....

Ok so I've been deciding on what I want to do with my car and have a pretty good idea now, but I want to get more opinions of course. Also, while I'm savvy enough appearance wise, I have no idea what kind of mods to do, if at all, under the hood. That stuff is beyond me for now, but I'd love to learn and I'm a pretty quick learner:-)

For those of you curious, my intro post is here: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/lounge-42/new-girl-owner-sunburst-orange-207012/

And this is ma purdy Sedan SS:

So ok, included on the list are:
-Headlights (want to do chrome, like the look of the Gen 3s).
-Taillights (are there chrome ones for the sedan? I can't find them!)
-Tinting windows (not sure of the laws in Ontario, if anyone knows....)
-Painted emblem/possible debadging
-Painted trim (any idea where to find Sunburst Orange paint?)
-lowering (how does this work and what do I need? Some kind of springs? Anyone from Toronto know a good place to get this done?)
-Chrome rims (any good online shops in Canada? I have a handful of designs that I am trying to choose from!)
-Higher spoiler (mine has the tiny little one....I don't want the high profile one, but there is one I REALLY like that comes stock on the Coupes....do these fit the Sedans?)

Ok, there are a bunch of other little things I've seen on here that I will also do (lit up door sills, short antenna, paint calipers/drum brakes, change leds to blue in dash, etc), but ya, those are the main ones for now. I also bought some custom leatherette seat covers:-)

So any other advice on what to do or any insight on the things I've listed? Thanks so much in advance:-) I appreciate it!

Well actually, I was trying to decide between black and chrome....and I LOVE the look of black but thought I'd do something different. Still not 100% decided. And I don't mean a HIGH spoiler, just the stock that comes with the coupe. Is that a bad thing?!!?

While I'm undecided on the black/chrome, I do know I like that damn spoiler....so that's not something I'm going to change my mind about!

I'm not totally going to chrome out or anything....but....I don't know. Thank you for the opinions though....please keep them coming!

the highrise spoiler looks out of place with the 2.4 rear bumper, but its your car so do what makes you happy

I used to have a Sunburst Orange Metallic SS sedan like that, and my plans were to paint match the headlights with the rest of the body or black them out, and go with black rims with a chrome lip. I'd suggest LED tails instead of chrome.

I did see a pic of a sedan with a higher spoiler than our stock spoilers, it was more like the low rise that comes on the 2 doors stock

YES! That's the spoiler I'm talking about:-)

Yeah, I do like the black look. I was wondering if the chrome was too much....but like I said, just trying to be different:-) Will have to work on that decision! Led tails, yes....that's what I want. If I was going chrome I was thinking about that for the back too but wasn't sure if it existed....or if it was too flashy....

Looking at sunburst with black now....I'm diggin' it. Still not sure though....

Thats a Coupe Low Rise...The Sedans vary in the rear. Factory they already come w/ the "low rise" for the Sedans, there is an aftermarket GM "high rise" for the sedans, I've read that you cannot use the coupe spoiler on the sedan...why I have no idea (I guess mounting, but if you do not mind adding new mounting holes I do not see the issue..but I'm not one for drilling new holes).....Then sadly I've looked for aftermarket, and find little available for the sedan, its always the coupes

At first I wanted something a little higher, but now I'm thinking of removing the spoiler, I think it would look better than anything. Idealy I want the lip spoiler that the SS Sedan concept on the front page has.

hey, I say if you wanna chrome out your car, go for it. For lowering, all you need are lowering springs. Personally, I have SSC springs and I love them. They give you a decent drop and keep good handling. Sportlines are the most popular, but the ride isn't that great. There are tons of options, just look around. Most shops should be able to do it. Here's a good thread to look at the drops different springs give.
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/suspension-67/lowering-springs-comparison-169711/
As for chrome wheels, it's not done very often around here, most people don't like chrome, but I say go for it, just do chrome tastefully. Don't go DUB or anything like that, it'll just look ridiculous. Look around for some decent chrome wheels on tirerack or discount tire. For buying parts, your best bet is to just buy online. Shipping will be more to Canada, but it's far easier than trying to find stuff locally. If you wanna do chrome, PM NCC-2000, he has one of the best looking cars with chrome on it on here.

Sportlines have just about the same ride as stock IMO. Maybe a little harsher on big pot holes but much better handling.

Ahhhh, so nothing curvy like the 2 door stock one. I just loved the height and the curve at the ends. *cries*

I like the lip spoiler too, it's nice. Where do you get something like that?

When you say match up the headlights to the rest of the car do you mean like this?

I think this looks awesome!
This is for sure an option now....

Ahhh, ok, yeah....I'm not gonna drill more holes, I'm with you on that. Hmmm that sucks then! I checked out that other thread. I can't decide what I think about the sedan high rise. I think it really is something I'd have to see in person. I just LOVED the curved coupe one....

Thanks so much for the link!

Thanks for the info on the springs I appreciate it. Now I am wondering how low I can have it before it becomes a problem towing it behind the RV!

Yeah, I kinda got the notion that people hated chrome, ha ha! I agree too much is....well, tacky. But looking at NCC-2000s car....wow. I REALLY like it. I will have to decide but I have some time until then.

Right now we're in the US, so getting parts online is easy. It's more so a fact of room to bring it up on the RV, since the car is up in Ontario. Will look into shipping certain things to Canada....may have to get the bigger things shipped up there and just deal with the higher shipping costs....

The lip is just a stock SS/SC or SS/TC lip.

Some people do the "Home Depot" mod. A little cheap and too home made IMO.

The lips are kind of rare on here. As most N/A's or LT's want that too. Not to mention they are quite highly priced as well.

omg... please someone stop this girl before this car just shames us all.
please no chrome, none at all, never no no no. not on a 4 door balt.
chrome tails? pleaseeeeeeeeeee noooooo. it will look SO EFFING DUMB!!!

your ideas for this car are just going to make it so unbelievably ricey looking. balts have a tendency to look ricey enough when certain work is done... dont make it any worse.

if you want the coupe low-rise spoiler you will have to drill new holes in the trunk for it since the sedan spoiler and the coupe spoiler aren't quite interchangeable.

i had one on my sedan and i loved it...

here are some better pics that i got from the dealers page [i traded my sedan in back in january]
