HELP! Removing Tail Lights

I'm going to tint my tail lights today and need help how to remove them exactly. I do not want to mess up any wires or damage any parts in the process.

I could not find a how-to thread for this so I figured I'll ask here.

Thanks!

Open your trunk then look around the tail light area. Remove the nut thing that you attach the top of the cargo net to. Pull the carpeting away from the body of the car and you'll see a few nuts holding the light on. Remove them, unplug the harness from the light and it should slide out of its hole. Other side is the same. The reverse lights are pretty self explanatory once you take the black covers off. Third brake light is only held on with some nuts/bolts, remove the trunk lid carpet and it'll be in plain view.

Yo man it is very simple. I just changed mine over Monday to smoked tail lights. First you have to remove the bulbs, they lock in so you have to turn them and then pull them out. On your reverse lights there are 2 screws on each one holding them in. I believe they are 10 mm if I remember correctly. On your break lights there are 2 screws holding in each break light. First you have to pull back the carpet to get to the screws holding the lights in. You really can mess anything up. Just don't try to force anything. Once you have removed the screws, push from the inside and they will slide right out. Then do the opposite to put them back on.

what do you guys recommend to get out the brake lights? I removed everything (2 nuts and the lightbulb) but by NO means do these things "slide" out..at least not on mine. Suggestions?

I was hesitant to even bother asking because of dicks that need to get their shots in throughout the course of the day..whatever though I guess ha. I know my way around cars quite well (and I can paint fyi)

im not saying anyone "banged" on me..i really dont care. i just asked for some helpful advice on what people have done that have had trouble with getting their own brake lights out. it gets old when you get smart comments though. someone saying that they hope im a better painter than 'light remover?' doesn't help me believe it or not.

i'm new to this particular car, but can do anything to an rx8/rx7. hopefully you guys understand why i'd be hesitant to take a hammer to my car to remove a light.

peace
