Help with taking out the stock SS/SC gauges?

I bought white replacement gauges from Blackcatcustom.com...I'm having some trouble taking off the plastic around my stock gauges...of course theres the two screws that are right above the instrament panel and are easily visable...you take those off and the plastic boot of the panel is off at the top...my problem is the bottom of that boot...its connected to the silver 2 inch piece of trim that runs the whole length of the dash...it's the silver trim that the SS logos are glued to on the far side...anyhow its seems like the plastic boot is glued to that silver trim...it needs to come off right where your I botton and arrow botton is and the other side of the steering wheel where your fog light botton and dimmer botton is...I didnt see anymore screws or any clips where its connected to that silver strip...and It's really on there good...I dont wanna break any trim or plastic...can anyone help?

You need to pull off both silver trim plates below the guage cluster . The one with the fog light and dimmer and the one with the info center buttons . Be REAL careful pulling them out , they just snap in with metal push clips , but they are a biotch to get out . Once you get those off there are 2 more bolts and then 2 small retainer clips that are pushed on 2 posts . The retainer clips are can be a biotch too . They push onto the post and have what looks like small little blades that dig into the plastic posts . Your gonna have to take a small flathead screw driver and bend a few of those blades back to free it enuff to pull the retainer off the post .

Given all that , its not thaaaaat hard . I had mine out in about 1/2 hour . Just , TAKE YOUR TIME and be carefull not to scratch the dash or trim pieces .
