hid confusion

i read the above stickies on hids and im still confused
A.)i can run d2r 6k-8k bulbs in my stock housing and not have glare issues(yes or no)
if no does that mean my only option is to buy projectors, d2s bulbs, and a hid kit

B.) will 8k be illegal..i want a descent blue to my light but want it to be legal..i like

Are you going to be running HID's (with ballasts) in reflector housings?

A.)
D2R and D2S are OEM HID bulb sizes, your stock housings are 9007 bulbs you would not be able to fit D2R/S without doing a retrofit with the appropriate projectors (which have the cutoff)

Your ONLY options should be to buy projectors and the proper sized bulbs/HID kit for them. You cannot get D2R/S bulbs to fit into anything but D2R/S housings (non of the current projectors for the cobalt have those sized bulbs)

Or you could do/have done a retrofit on D2R/S projectors into your stock housing, but that is def. not a project for the faint of heart.

You definatly should NOT put HID's in stock reflective housings though!

B.)
Stock BMW usually use 4300K HID's, they get there slight bluish color at certain angles because of the prejector lens they use. You would be best to stick to 6K or below, 8K will not give you much improvement over stock and blue HID's are distracting anyways =/
