HID fog help

Hey folks,

Recently one of my yellow fog lights died on me. Instead of installing more yellow lights I decided to go HID at 5000k. My question is can I safely run this with the plug and play harness from 3B spec or should I get the relay harness?

For the few extra $$$ go with the relay harness imho.

Waaaay cheaper than a burnt up wire harness........

Thats what I thought as well till I was told that the wires for the fogs are quite a bit heavier duty than the headlights therefore the pnp kit would work just fine... IDK... I just don't want my car to burn down!! LOL

I ran hids in my fogs and low beams for over a year with a pnp set up and never had a problem. The harnesses can handle it

A relay for the fogs is a great idea, and i did so on both mine and my brothers cars.

The headlights can go without a relay, because each beam is fused at 10 amps, whereas the foglights are tied together and only fused at 15 amps.

A relay for one foglight really is all that is needed, and the same is what we did with mine and Topexx's cars. The car's fuse runs one foglight, and the fused relay runs the other. No differences in the light or when it comes on, just doing it properly is all!

Thanks for the great answer! Looks like I'll take that route!
