you have to modify the hole that the bulb fits into with a little grinding.

Order the bulbs for the SOCKET of the HOUSING. The projectors use H1 bulbs... so ordering a 9007 kit won't fit. THe 9007 kit should only be ordered if you're using them in the stock housing.

Order the H1 harness. The battery fed harness hooks into the wiring of the housing's headlight socket for the remote turn on wire... meaning the 9007 isn't compatable. Trust me, I've made this mistake and had to order a H7 plug to splice in place of the 9007 one.

H1 HID kit from 3Bspecialties. Witht he 3rd gens you don't have to modify anything. I have the 1st gens with H1 HID's and have no problems out of them.

HIDs need two "adapters"... I think you're referring to #2...

1) The ballast for the HIDs. This should come with the HID kit. It's basically a transformer that ups the voltage from the car's standard voltage to what the HID operates at.

2) The daylight running light relay. This is only needed for cars that use their headlights (not front yellow running lights) for their DRLs. The reason for this is that the car operates the DRLs at a lower voltage than full headlight voltage. This is bad for the HIDs because the ballast then can't up the voltage to what's required for the HIDs.

The quick answer version to your question is I don't remember if the '07s used the headlights as DRLs, but if they do, then you'll need the DRL relay for your HIDs. If they don't then nothing's needed and you're good to go.

I'm not sure for the 07's because their DRL's mess with the HID's. I have an 06 and I did not need the relay. Just the plug and play kit and I was set to go.

Oh, well there's the answer then. You'll need the HID-DRL relay if yours is an '07 then.

Your DRL fuse may be blown is why. I didn't like mine, so I pulled the fuse and they don't come on now unless the autoheadlights or I turn them on.

To the OP: I forgot about this option. You could just pull your DRL fuse in the fuse box too. It should be in the upper left-ish part of the fuse box by a big relay if you're standing in front of the car.

The relay harness is reccommended... but you can run without it unless you encounter issues or want to use DRL. If you're going to not use the harness on the 07+, yank the DRL fuse under the hood. You will only lose DRL function, not the autolamps (Your lights will come on automatically at night or when raining).

As far as modification to the 3rd gen housing, you will need to perform the anti-glare mod (See how-to section) to remove those bright spots that occur in them. Other than that, you don't need to do anything to them as far as bulb sockets go. The return lead will be a little tight when putting it in, but i'll not hurt anything.

It should be noted too that if you buy the 3rd Gens from 3bspec, that they will already have this modification and you won't need to do it. I asked a while back about this and they perform the modification to all 3rd Gens, whether they are ordered with HID kits or not.

It's great if you're like me and want to go cheap to see if you like them as-is, but then may decide later that you want HIDs after all.
