HID projectors on the way!

I'll let Devon post the pics when I install them in his car but they're the BMW projectors retro fitted into the stock housing useing Mercury's how to. Actualy you'd be surprised how easy it really is! I started them last night and have finished the passenger side and will have the drivers side ready tommorrow for their first test fit and test fireing in Devons car. Hopefully he'll remember his camera and snap some pics if not I'll see what I can do.

BTW the hardest part is getting the damn sealent to let go, after that its cake!

Sorry guys got sick lasy night so I couldn't do the drivers side. But the passenger side is done and its FXACTLY like the ones Mercury did! He had an awesome idea!

Anomalous, what do you mean? Is there a problem I should be made aware of?

OH! LMAO! Hey it was an AWESOME idea that Mercury had and actualy I can't believe how easy it really is! The only hard part is the sealant that holds the headlamp together.
Beyond that, total cake walk!

I told him we could do the angel eyes too but he's undecided on them right now. Basicly he's getting the exact same thing Mercury built. IMO the angel eyes would look awesome in there with em!

Whats with your rear deck?

Projector headlight assemblies use a lens to control and aim the extreme spray of light caused by a HID bulb.

makes them look way better IMO
and most importantly it makes them not burn the retina of oncoming traffic

Just follw Mercury's how to and its not bad at all! The sealent is a bitch and it helps to have a Dremmel tool BIG TIME! Just take your time and measure everything up and you should be fine. I'm off again on tuesday so I'm hoping to finish the drivers side then. Then I just need Devon and his car to test fit and make and minor adjustments and then re-seal em! But I'll be sealing these with black RTV as its so much easier to work with.

Good luck and feel free to PM me with any questions and I'll do my best to help you out.

I am really glad to see that more and more people are taking the time to have premium HID light. I can't wait to see pictures of these, sounds like you did a great job!

It only takes a few of us sounding like broken records for a while, hehe

seriously, I apologise for sounding like a dick when it comes to this subject....but after I did a ton of research (thanks to mercs inspiration) you truely learn alot about HID lighting.

I would rather people just go out there and do some reading for themselves than listen to me yap on about HIDs and reflectors....
If you just read about it...youll soon see why alot of us bring it up wherever we see it.

hey just wondering... how hard do you think it would be to retrofit the aftermarket halo halogen projector to a hid projector? and would it be worth it?

not really.

The only reason you would do it is if you reall really like the halos, and really have to have perfect HID projection.

Do one or the other.
While the halo projectors arent of the quality of some projectors you could buy for a retrofit....they Will do the job with HIDs. and keep the glare out of oncoming traffic, and control your beam.

If you want the best projector performance with HIDs, retrofit and buy GOOD projectors to do it with.

If you want HIDs and want to aim your light properly and not blind people, but dont have the time/patience/money to do the fabbing.....buy halos.

(just dont by 9007 bulbs and slap them in your stockers )
just my opinion.
