Question Hid quesiton!!!!!!!!

well i just recieved UNEEKS kit from FED EX today and since it has finally stopped raining i decided i will install these tomarrow! everything looks straight forward except for 2 wires a red (positive +) black (negative -) and another plug looks like sotck oem one. in the directions it does'nt say anythign about them I assume they will work with out them right? just put some electric tape on them and "get er done"

Are those wires for high low for other kits i guess that is my question if not what do they do? (really small too, like 3 inches of wire)

It also has another plug too that goes to a wiring harness incase the some cars battery short out ballast so do i just zip tie that uptoo (i didnt get harness)

UNEEK what do those to small wires and that plug go to bro

I am sorry to see you bought one of those hid kits..... Not to be rude but they are junk.

At least make a wiring harness with around 12 gauge wire so you don't fry your stock wiring. A stock halogen bulb requires 55w of power. HIDs use 30w ONLY AFTER THEY ARE IGNITED. During ignition they can consume up to 3x the amount of power a standard halogen bulb uses.

Maybe that was the case with OLD hid systems. But modern HID kits have a warm up period for a reason. When you turn your lights on the HID bulbs gradually turn on (soft start) so as not to cause an electrical spike during ignition.

Do you really think that no engineering or testing went into the product before it was marketed? Would I still be in business if my kits would "fry" vehicle electrical systems?

God, I love it when people who have no knowledge of how a product is manufactured or designed chimes in with some negative automotive urban legend. Look man, if you don't want HIDs thats fine, just stop spreading misinformation.

Now that thats out of the way.

1) The wire with the black braiding around (oem looking connection) connects directly to the ballast.

2) The wire with the two pins connects to where your stock bulb was connected to.

Sorry, I think I might have sent you the old instruction manual. Call me (anytime) if you still have questions.

OMMMMMGGGG Sir. A ballast is a ballast. There is no way around that. Also it is not an urban legend that people's wiring gets fried. It does happen.

I never said I didn't want HIDs. I am going to be retrofitting a pair of bi-xenon projectors into my cobalt this winter.

Also all other kevlan of xenon bulbs besides 4300k are ghey because light output decreases after 4300k.

Actually, light decreases after 5800k. The photosphere of the sun (the layer which contains all of the visible light) is at this temperature. Higher than this, light becomes X-rays (not visible light).

Sure, if someone makes 15 million K modules ( that's the temperature of the core of the Sun, where all light is in the form of X-rays) lol

after a few weeks of really digging into HIDS....im very inclined to agree with mercury.

What I know of mercury is that he is against HIDs in reflector housings, and agrees with using projectors with HIDS to avoid blinding people.

im not sure if thats completely correct....or everything....but on those points I also agree with him very much so.

I'm not. I have a great HID Bi-Xenon lighting system.

Thats EXACTLY correct. I have like studied the mans work, then done a set myself.

The problem with plug and play kits is that our housings aren't made to direct or aim the light output, causing MASSIVE glare. There is no cut off, there is no control... and people think it looks good. Good from the drivers seat maybe, but stand 25 feet in front of the car... ouch.

Although I agree with Uneek that Technology has caught on to the problems with frying wires, the concept still is putting a bulb made for a projector in a reflector style housing.
